The Black Family Technology Awareness Association (BFTAA) is a remarkable organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide within the African American community. We aim to close the gap in technological empowerment between the Black community and the broader U.S. mainstream.
How did we start?
Founded in 2004, chartered in 2005, BFTAA is part of the Black Family Technology Awareness Network.
Our Mission
To empower and fully equip the Black community by eliminating disparities in technological access and knowledge.
What are we about?
01.
Empowering Through Education:
BFTAA provides basic computer training to enhance digital literacy among community members. They believe that knowledge is the key to unlocking opportunities in the digital age.
02.
Youth Technology Club:
BFTAA runs a Youth Technology Club with a special focus on robotics. By engaging young minds, they nurture curiosity, creativity, and technical skills.
03.
KUAW Internet Community Broadcasting Station:
As part of their outreach, BFTAA operates KUAW Radio, an Internet community broadcasting station. KUAW serves as a platform for sharing information, celebrating culture, and amplifying Black voices.
Our commitment is to knowledge, awareness, and community building.
